I have 2 articles for you today that deal with emotions from 2 different viewpoints. The first one by Tim Ash, the landing page guru, discusses how emotional triggers can improve conversion rates on your landing page. He explores anxiety vs. trust, confusion vs. clarity, and alienation vs. affinity.

The second blog post by Jami Gibbs on Feedfront talks about some of the emotions affiliates go through and how to control them to optimize productivity and profits.

Emotional Motivators in Landing Page Optimization "All of the specific strategies and tactics that you will apply to landing page optimization are aimed at influencing basic human emotions and moving your visitors off their comfortable spot. Direct marketers Bob Hacker and Axel Andersson have defined several key copywriting concepts that motivate people to act: fear, greed, guilt, exclusivity, anger, salvation, or flattery. Not one of these motivations is rational -- all of them are rooted in our fundamental and unchanging emotional nature."

Emotionally Charged Affiliate Marketing ? By Jami Gibbs "As an affiliate marketer, you will always be learning something new, be it designing landing pages, finding new keywords, or finessing your copywriting skills. However, there is one thing that you will learn faster than anything else ? your plate will always be full. But, have you considered the emotional pitfalls of your affiliate marketing PPC campaign? More importantly, have you learned how to control those emotions to maximize your profit?"
