Share some stories and helpful resources here, guys. I own a Nissan Altima, and I really like it. It is new, so I don't have to work on it that much. But anyway

Not really. I used to do it out of necessity mainly years ago.
Have a good set of tools. I used to buy a Chilton manual for every vehicle I owned and intended to work on. It helps to have exploded diagrams of component assemblies.

Today you will need electronic devices in addition to mechanics tools -- these are not cheap.
