Hello friends,

I know this might be a little elementary, but what is the main difference between SEO and PPC? Do you consider PPC to be part of SEO?

I think you can carry out SEO activities on Pay Per Click campaigns just as you do for organic listings. So yes, they are different things altogether.

SEO generally refers to getting your website listed in the search results/organic results page.

PPC is the process of promoting your website in search engines paid results(ads section) by bidding on keywords.

As said by surreypcsupport, yes you can optimize your web ads(PPC) following their guidelines.

Hi eagle09,
PPC is not a part of SEM not to SEO and seo, sem and smo are the part of internet marketing.

PPC : Pay per click is the common term for advertising such as Google Adwords where an advertiser pays each time someone clicks from their ad through to their website.

SEO : Search engine optimization is a art, the use of various techniques to improve a web site's ranking in the search engines and thus attract more visitors for our website.

PPC is when you pay to improve your site's PR and SEO is your work to improve the site's PR. It's better to do SEO than to have PPC as the latter one is not very legal.

Pay Per Click

Hi Friends,

Differences about PPC and SEO,we know that both methods drive targeted traffic to your website.

  • The First difference of the two is location that the website listing is displayed. The SEO (organic listings) are considered as regular listings in the search engine results.

  • The Second difference between SEO and PPC is the Traffic Potential.

  • The third difference is pretty obvious. This would be the cost that is involved between the two.
Thanks...

Even though there are some many differences among these two, their major goal is the same: traffic increase. So if you have the budget, you could try the PPC also..

Both the above sentences are completely wrong.

You do not use PPC to improve PR. There is nothing ilegal about using PPC and you do not carry out SEO activities to improve PR.

SEO improves SERPS. PPC places adverts on SERPs in exchange for a fee per click.

Hello Friends.....

PPC can be characterised as a quick boost of traffic to a particular site. If you’re willing to pay the price of the clicks, then you can buy a top position for your chosen search terms in the major Pay per Click engines. Providing your search term has enough traffic, and your creative is tight and enticing, you should notice a bump in traffic.
SEO is a slower process. You are unlikely to see major changes to your traffic in the early stages, as so much of SEO is to do with the structure and environment of your site.

Thanks
