Good question. Lot's of publishers ask this :)

Adwords requires that you have a landing page. You need a URL/Landing Page of your own for the display and destination URL.

But, with the call extension you'll be focusing your traffic to click to call, instead of landing on your site.

Best of luck!

At present, I am doing Pay per call with Bing. I found cost per click on Bing is high and for sure on Google it will be 4-5 time of the cost of Bing.
I want to know can we survive running Pay Per Call on Google as normal Payout is $10, and Google will cost $5 to $20 per click.

Thank you

You'll need to find niche markets within a category and look for lower cpc rates.

For example, Empire Carpet would bid on higher level, short tail keywords like "carpet", "buy carpet", "flooring", etc. You may need to find keywords like "carpet for renovation", "frize carpet", "hardwood flooring", etc. You need to find longer tail, more niche keywords that are less competitive and cheaper.

Also, on Google you need to work to improve your quality score. Make sure you have good account and campaign structure, add relevant keywords to ad text, improve landing page content and relevance and make sure your keywords are grouped well.

What are some mobile click to call networks where we can create text ad campaigns with click to call functionality? Other than Adwords/Bing for example.

Do Pay Per Call campaigns need a landing page?

If you're using Adwords or Bing, yes. But, your goal is to get mobile clicks through the call extension. Unless you've figured out how to motivate users to pick up the phone and call from your landing pages.

I think most ad networks will require a landing page, but if you're doing click to call you won't be getting many visitors there. With pay per call your IVR will become your landing page.

Since the landing page is required is it okay to direct them to the default offers landing page? In a sense it would be direct linking?

Also I just recently joined your network. Would it be possible to have a pow wow via skype at some point?

Is it possible to have success with running media buys -> pay per call?

Sorry but I don't get that part. You mean for example if I had a PPV popup the majority of people wouldn't use the click to call functionality? Many would still just call the number though so I guess that's good?

Looking up IVR (interactive voice response), how is that a landing page? And is an IVR necessary for running something like a banner ad etc. (i.e. anything without a call extension like adwords)?

Sorry for the many questions, just trying to catch up.

I recommend using your own domain and landing page, since you have control to make changes, if needed. You can copy our landing pages and use them on your domains.

Definitely. Let's chat on Skype - RingPartnerMike

For a click to call campaign, when the user clicks on the banner or text ad and generates a call prompt on their phone, the user isn't going to land on the landing page at all. So, their next interaction will be with the IVR recording, not the landing page site. PPV would not be considered in this, since they would need to visit your LP in order to call. I'm talking more about search result ads or banners ads on a site or within an app.

An IVR isn't necessary, but it is a good opportunity to bridge the gap between your niche and the campaign and it also allows for better monetization and multiple revenue streams.

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask for more clarity :)

-Mike

Thanks for the reply, Mike, much appreciated! So the IVR, is that something that exists in a pre-recorded fashion (text to speech) or how do you set this up? And this happens inside invoca/your platform?

Could you elaborate how this allows for better monetization or multiple revenue streams? I mean let's imagine someone with a serious tooth ache, they now call the offer number (dentist) and basically just want to find a dentist nearby, quickly. They won't be interested in a teeth whitening offer or other stuff?

Yes, the IVR's are set up in Invoca. We have the ability to set them up on our side, but all publishers have this ability too. You'll need to ask for call promotions to be added as a feature. This will allow you to create your own custom call treatment to filter calls and redirect based on answers to questions.

Just be careful not to add an IVR on a campaign that already has one, it will be confusing for the caller.

You can use IVR's to redirect traffic to the best campaign. For example, if a caller is looking for a payday loan you could ask them if they already have 2 or more loans, if so, send them to payday debt help instead of to the payday loan campaign.

For your dentist example, you could say - for dental emergencies, press 1 now, if you have dental insurance, press 2 now, if you don't have dental insurance press 3 now. 1 and 2 would go to the offer and 3 would go to dental insurance, which would also improve your quality of the leads going through to the dentist campaign.
