How Do You Know When Your Server Is Down?

I actually use Pingdom. They monitor the server and sends me an email if it goes down.

I am so happy with my share host. :D

Agreed. Hosting providers are actually the first one to get blamed just because most of the users don't know how everything works on a big picture. Just my opinion though.

Poll: Bluehost vs HostGator

I'd go for Hostgator just because of their price regardless on how bad their support is.
