I can't agree more. Besides, its use is ridiculous sometimes. I have seen one page WordPress websites! Do you really need a CMS of over 3000 thousand files just to create one long web page!? Go learn HTML! It is not that hard.
It won't solve it immediately. You need to wait until search engines recrawl your site and update their databases.
Leave them one month to do that. Drop a reply here if it didn't work.
There is only one way and it is getting more links to your site. The more search engines see URLs pointing to your site, the most it will get crawled… and indexed.

1. Awesome on-site SEO
2. Good backlinks
It still works for me… although I must admit that getting links is getting harder. There are so many crappy websites out there these days I sometimes wish that buying a domain name would be a lot more expensive.
