I want to tag to this thread as I have the same problem, I tend to rely on the very simple things like address book (paper copy) for telephone and email addresses.
Good move, it took my brother who drives a Shogun about 1 year to get back the outlay of the conversion on the savings he made. So now he is really getting the cheap motoring, LPG prices are creeping up though, but petrol prices are currently too high for most people who have to commute.
For me it is the short easy names with no hyphens on a .com or local extension, so for me being in the UK, the .co.uk
Also, names that are in context with the purpose/products of the site.
I have a day-job with a large multi-national so my eggs are in that basket and the sites I run I could live without if I had to financially, but I like being creative and that means they stay. However, if I did not have a day-job and relied on my sites for my income I would have my finger in...
I never ever use that feature and I am online ALL the time pretty much and have seen some sites that I have thought friends would like to see, but still not had the urge to use the recommend a friend button
I tend to go online to the BBC website to get my news, I rarely buy a paper, most people I work with use the internet for news and weather as I work in an office. For those who do not have access to the internet during a working day will probably still opt for a newspaper I think
Not really niches as they are wide open, I have a finance site, a directory, and a true niche site which is based on 360 panorama's and walking in the area where I live, it also details the towns and villages and attractions of the area.
Never timed myself typing, but 50-60 words per minute sounds alot to me, I reckon I can do about 20 words/min. Kinda instinctively know where all the keys are now, but I am no touch-typer

I tend to use feeds nowadays as I see greatest results from these, namely an espotting directory feed via OMGUK and also adsense. I also have a finance site, so I use OMGUK and Smart-Quotes affiliate networks and I am associated with most of the offerings of those networks.
