How can I set up my own server SMTP with an open source Mailing software?

Most of the email sending platforms charges a lot. Besides, you can even be removed from their platform without prior notice. How can one set up and run his own email server?

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted.
