I think I get the concept and it could work, but standard Internet marketing rules apply--keyword research, SEO, backlinks, sales pages that convert, etc. If you really want it to be successful and make some $$$, this basic stuff doesn't go away.
Unfortunately, creating good, unique content and doing the work to obtain valuable backlinks does take time and energy. I think many new affiliates need to understand that what they should really be creating is a business and building a business has challenges.
You can market any number of niche products, either from one parent website or by using individual sites for each product. You probably don't want to offer so many products that you lose focus and cannot market each with the attention they will need.
Sounds like you're thinking the right way, but I don't think you'll see decent PR in one month's time as one of the factors Google seems to apply is age of the domain.
