The vast majority of people 'lurk' on forums, only a small number actually post, and a smaller number stick around for the long term. On a forum I run I still have members posting going back 10 years..... they really need to get out more
You do really need referrals to get the best out of these programs, but you can earn good money on them. I done a test on one last year with the wife and we earned $300 in the first month, not an amount to be sniffed at, but the test was to see if we could recommend it to the Filipino's on one...
I have used vBulletin for years as it has always proved the best around, as I test all the others each year to see what they offer. All complex software is buggy in one way or another, especially new stuff like vB5.
I use Answer Assault, however I use it for posting quickly, rather than spamming, which is basically what it is sold for. I rarely add links to my own sites, but when I do it is meaningful to the question, and every link YA is a good one.

I wonder how long it will take for internet markets to find a way of abusing it?
Youtube is an excellent way of getting free traffic, even if you think your own type of site may not have a related video, you can always knock up something. You don't even have to do it yourself, just pay someone on Fiverr to do it for you.
Most of them use exaggerated marketing blurb to draw people in, and the vast majority are just scams. Things like online surveys, yes you can make money from them, but a very small number do as it takes a lot of work and is boring.
I know one company that I recommend to my forums, but I'm not...
What is Black Hat? I use software that the majority of 'Black Hat' users use, but I use it in a way I say is sensible, and I certainly don't spam anywhere like forum comments, I do them manually, again using software to find and track them.
As soon as you act in a way that puts a backlink to...
