Now I feel rather guilty for not having been around the forum much in recent months :)
Thanks for the kind words from everyone - I shall remind myself to try and visit more often, but much has been happening here of late and keeping me away.
Glad you decided to become a forum member...
Good post Linda and absolutely true, been blogging about this whole hoohah myself.
I use advertising like millions of others but I always try not to be too intrusive and let my blog readers choose if they want to view them. The desire for adblocking tools has arisen for the same reason that...
Hi
You will need to be a little more specific. I'm guessing that your question relates to a third party's feed that you have placed on your own site (I checked both places listed in your sig but couldn't see anything obvious).
Is the feed from an affiliate program of which you are a member...
Phew - I'm certainly glad I pulled Carsten in on that one :)
I realized that the original question was not really answered at your site, but you still have one of the most comprehensive and understandable resources out there on the whole subject.
Sorry I created so much work for you! Thanks...
If you haven't done so already (I think there is already a link somewhere on these forums) pay a visit to Carsten Cumbrowski's pages dealing with data feeds.
Lots of useful information and resources to be found there no matter what your level of experience.

Interesting post thanks Linda. Funnily enough I just gave Popshops a plug at my blog too. It's certainly a really simple way to start playing with data feeds and it takes literally a few minutes to create a Popshop and add it to an existing site.
The free membership is worth trying for any...
Hi again Jenn
OK, I'll try and take some of this on....

Hi Jenn
I completely concur with Linda's advice and Larwee's references regarding hosting. If you are anticipating hosting a forum, and see it taking off, cheap hosting will end up being a nightmare in all probability. Web Hosting Talk is always a good place to do some research and get...
Hi Daniel
You're welcome. Think of commenting this way - are you adding something useful to the conversation by way of reaction or information? Just typing something inane like "Great Site, thanks - my blog has information about XYZ" followed by a URL, will see you deleted from most well run...
Hi Daniel,
With bloggers and forum owners fighting constant battles against spam comments and people trying to "sneak" affiliate links into comments and posts, it is basically seen as very poor form to do it.
However, if you are ever tempted to push a link in either a blog or a forum you...
Hi Philip
For all I know you may have read these already but the following links explain how to truncate your posts in Blogger and will lead you to lots of Blogger experts if you get stuck with it.

 What? You mean there are others?......Well I'll be ;)
Seriously though, I used to read a couple of others but this is the best moderated (thanks Larry) and by far the most useful I have come across. As previous posters have already said, 5Star is very professionally run and there's...
This one has been covered quite well already in the forums.
