I would have to say excellent way in finding a niche, sometimes you could take hours even days trying to figure out a niche, these steps really can help a newbie starting out.
Couldn't agree with you more, if your in it for the long term then give value with your work (a little extra), shortcuts can get you in a bad spot in no time when you think you got it you really don't (not even close).
I agree that content is most valuable to those who are looking outside in, you can have some of the best graphics on a web page but if the content is not convincing enough or make you think it's not going to get you any where.
With good content shows affiliate you know what you are doing.
I would say you need to have at least 500-600 word in each article, write twice a week and submit to as many directories as possible, change title for each directory.
