Great topic. My two cents is that power words like "free" still have traction, however the web is indeed more saturated than ever so you need to use them wisely. For example, to me, as a customer, "free" diminishes my perceived value of a product/service in general, but I can't really say "free"...

I tried a few AI photo generators but somehow I just don’t feel like using these images. To me it is so obvious they are AI generated and it just buggs me. I feel like it lacks effort and thus it's less trustable. Am I the only one?

I am sure Mondiad traffic would be a great fit for you but I am not sure what formats to recommend. Maybe test out with push and natives as a start. Also focus on SEO/creating valuable content that offer solutions to peoples issues.
I’ve tested both classic and in-page push and they both had their pluses and minuses. I remember I did lots of testing until I found the right parameters and indeed the niche and traffic source will have a great impact on your results.
