What Ad Network would you Recommend a Newbie Media Buyer

I am looking to buy desktop banner display. Anyone can recommend a good network where I can learn the ropes of media buying. I want to get my feet wet first.

I have opened an account with Propeller Ads but they don't seem to offer banner ads anymore. I am also looking at SiteScout at the moment. Are they good? Can I also direct link my banner ad with my affiliate like with these ad networks? Thanks!

I too am interested in running banner ads on desktop. As far as the adult vertical goes -> sure? I guess if it's still making the aff's pretty good ROI, why not. I'm looking forward to hearing your response @Lisa_trafficshop.

The two you mentioned doesn't help the OP as a Newbie Media Buyer, both are very specific on the type of advertizers and ads they want, no product promotion whatsoever as they don't want their publishers websites spammed with ED, Viagra and dating, contents must provide valuable content to visitors. They both have gone commercial and serve the needs of big firms now with huge budgets.
