Searching the net for various website design elements I came across this interesting article on how the web visitors eye's track on a web page.
It is highly technical in some parts, but an interesting part of the study was when the research team inversed the ranking order from a google search from position 1-10 to 10-1 the web visitors still went to the number 1 and 2 ranked searches but in the study there was alot of hesitation before choosing as if the web viewers knew something was awry

Every article I have found restates the obvious, results on the top of the page receive the most views
