Gotta say, I'm disappointed. I heard a lot about the dojo, but now that im here. Most of the treads are from 2013 and doesn't seem like much going on. The affilatefix is 1000x more active.

The reason for that is that most people of this site do paid traffic.

For SEO stick to the basics. A good description can help draw customers (it is what is written in the search results). Quality content with a good structure with headers and sub headers will have an impact. Each page should talk about a subject. Bullet points helps. Bold character helps. Anything that makes obvious the important point of your text and makes it easier to read is good.

Use twitter to boost your ranking because the more people visit and the more Google notice your website is easy to read and has traffic, the more of a boost you get. The same goes for social media and pintinterest. All you have to do is create a buzz. If people comment and talk about you and your site or ask you question (and you answer) this will help you rank and make you appear as a legit person and an authority in your field.

A video on youtube can help. Google plus will definitively help. You can post a blog post on Google plus about your blog post (you promote your blog post by giving advices and content of value and then say more on your site). The one on your site goes in details and in depth.

Forget the advance stuff since those changes a lot. The important part is to get noticed BY THE CUSTOMERS. Google, yahoo and Bing are worthless if no one comes back and no one convert to your offers.

So anything with the basics is still good. Also not because google say it does not work anymore that it means it does not work anymore. You have to test (just like with backlink that are not natural). Even if you get a penalty, as long as the social gives you returning customers, it is all good. Then you adjust yourself or try another approach (like with another way to make backlink) and you look for the result.

The search engine algorithm changes over time. The need to socialize and get quality content always stay.

6000 words convert more than just 500 even if less people read it. If you bring 6000 words of quality and in depth content people will know you are not a flake that just write superficial content seen everywhere just to make a buck. If they like you as an helpful person or someone who brings them answers to their questions or solutions to their needs, you will make more sale and eventually rank better.

Also, keyword research is a must. Look at long tail keyword as well. If you see an interest around keywords or long tail keyword and little competition go for it. Write a content that bring what is needed about those.

Over time as you become more visible, you can make money by talking about offer or services of companies that are WILLING to pay you to talk about their stuff. Just say that this post is sponsored about this company ... talk about the kind of services there is online or kind of product, what to look for to know it is a good product or a good service and then talk about what the sponsoring company is offering. If you can make on top of that a commission on each sales it is even better (just make sure you say it is an affiliate link to be legal).

As long as you bring value and helpful advices or information people will accept it. The more they will like you, the higher the chance they will by through your link or come back for more.

Forgot to mention something important

Google, yahoo and Bing are looking more and more into user engagement. If people leave comments, reacts to you, ask you questions or talk about you, it will be classified as organic traffic and you will get more juice. You can use instagram to share picture related to what you are talking about that could perhaps trigger a reaction (like cute pictures with kitten about something ironic or funny about what you are talking about).

You can also put a quote or a proverb that really makes people think or hits their emotion. That to is a form of social engagement. Anything to make people interact with your site is good.

You should aim for 10 to 20 pages of valuable content filled with call to action (like thumbs up if you agree or tweet if you agree or share it if it is funny.

Also say thank you to people who clicked on like or shared the pictures or the content. Do not be afraid to say it helps you in delivering all of the good content you are making. People like it when they feel you care about them and are thankful rather than be a marketer that just do not care and just want the money.

So talk to them and try to create a conversation with your visitors or make them react in a positive way.
