My First PPC Campaing Ever - Journey of a Real Noob

Hi everyone,

This is my first attempt at PPC advertising. In the past I have used free traffic to promote CPA offers. Now, I want to get into PPC advertising. I visited lots of websites and read tons of threads regarding this way of promoting CPA offers. After hours (probably days) of reading, I wanted to go and try it myself.

I heard a lot of people say that 7search is the place to learn PPC, and as the minimum deposit is only $50, I think it suits me. Currently there is $75 in my 7search account. It's not much, but I could add more if needed.

For tracking I want to use adsbridge. Two days ago I was planning on using Voluum, but sadly enough they will be removing the free plan. Maybe I'll use Prosper202 later on, but right now I don't want to purchase a VPS to host it.

I'll post my stats and progress on this thread to keep myself motivated, but also for other people who are just starting out. This way they see what mistakes I might make and learn how to avoid making them.

The networks I will be using are CPAGrip and CPALead. I also applied for PeerFly but I think I won't get accepted because of my age.

Anyways, I found some offers which I think might work out (hear me talking like a professional haha) and wanted to set up a campaign for one of them. A lot of people say tracking is key with 7search because some sources provide fake traffic. So I tried setting up AdsBridge but I am having trouble getting it to work with CPAGrip.

When adding a new affiliate network to my AdsBridge account, I need to fill in a token. I can't find the token on my CPAGrip dashboard so I went ahead and asked my AM. He connected me with their integration specialist but I don't have a reply yet. I guess I'll just wait till tomorrow. I can't find the token on google aswell, does someone on this forum know which token CPAGrip uses?

I still don't know the tracking token that CPAGrip uses, so I really can't continue. I am still waiting, maybe I'll get it later today. I am also signing up for MaxBounty, as I heard they are a great network for beginners. I will post any further updates later today, hopefully I get the tracking token.

CPAgrip is using "tracking_id" as tracking token
so in AdsBridge when setting up Affiliate network, you should use "tracking_id" as traffic token
and then when configuring S2S postback url in CPAgrip you should also use this tracking_id to pass adsbridge id back to adsbridge.

Yup, another problem. Or actually, something I just don't get. When adding 7search as a traffic source to AdsBridge, I literally have no clue of what to fill in.

If I am not mistaking, the postback URL by default is: http://abpostback.com/trackpixel/track?tid= . I think I should change it to http://abpostback.com/trackpixel/track?tracking_id= . I am not sure about this.

Then under ''advanced'', I don't know what to fill in for tracking id (ignore keyword & ###KEYWORD###, it was only there when making the screenshot). For cost I also don't know what I should fill in.

There are some default templates on AdsBridge, but 7search is not one of them, which makes this pretty hard for me. I know some people might be laughing at me for not knowing this type of stuff, but it's completely new for me.

Okay so I can't figure out how to setup AdsBridge with CPAGrip, so I'll be direct linking for now. If the stats are good, I'll keep it but if it's really bad I'll try to setup Adsbridge again and I'll use landing pages.

For now I'll be using Bevo to track the direct linking.

Yes, I can't afford a VPS at the moment, as I want CPanel installed on it as well. A CPanel license is 13$/month, and then there's the price of the actual vps on top of that. If I could afford a VPS, I'd have used Prosper202, I am planning on using it later on.

I think I am not getting enough traffic, because I only have 4 keywords setup. I know I should use more, but there really aren't any other keywords related to this offer.

I think I'll let the campaign run tonight, but tomorrow I'll probably pause it. I messed up the tracking really bad so I just can't see what website sent traffic to my ad. At the moment it's not that big of a deal because I have not had any clicks yet, but I think it's stupid to not track sub-ids on 7search.

The integration specialist from CPAGrip didn't respond to my question, so I think I need to search for help somewhere else. I just can't find the correct information on google. This does make me consider switching to another network to be honest.

I haven't updated this thread for a while as I was really busy with other things this week.

I paused all my campaigns on 7Search as I think it is pointless to buy traffic from them without properly tracking it.

I will be setting up a new website (no direct linking anymore), and will send traffic to it when there's enough content on it. This might take a few days.

I'll post here again when I am done with this website and ready to send traffic to it.

You can create a sub-domain for your Prosper202 and create a lander on your main domain, no problem mate.
