Microsoft in Search Engine Market

What are the chances of Microsoft getting into the search engine market?
After all they have the money and resources to give Google a scare.

I think in search its all about providing something thats useful to people. Google became successful by being good at what they do. Microsoft's main tactic for success in search seem to be to throw lots of advertising money at it, but if people can't find what they are looking for using their service, they'll go elsewhere.

For example, Google has about 75% of the search market in the UK, but have you ever seen them advertise on TV?

Did I miss something here? Microsoft have been in the search engine market for a number of years now, and recently updated their MSn search to windows live.

When the new operating sytem etc comes out the default search from the desktop is MSlive. There will be no need to install browsers to surf or search, so Microsoft will grab a slice of the corporate search market overnight.

Microsoft always helped itself by monopolizing the OS Market. If I remember they had issues with IE and Netscape. Isn't that a bit similiar now with MSLive and Google?
