International wire payments from network

I am from UK and just received a weekly payment via wire transfer from my affiliate network based in China.

The payment was only around $200 and I noticed that $35 was deducted. If I knew the amount would have been that high then I would have built up the amount before requesting payment. My understanding is that there is a payment charge AND a beneficiary bank charge for receiving the payment and unsure if the network passed their part of the fee on to me too.

Is $35 an average fee for wire transfers?

How do you guys minimise your banking costs when receiving payments?

Use Payoneer if they offer it, like $15 per transaction. Either way charges are going to happen.

$35 Sounds about right for a wire. I'm paying around $30. I should really look at another service but I keep forgetting.
