How to move the customer through the sales funnel?

Hi all, it seems to me that the name of the game in affiliate marketing is being able to move the prospect through the sales funnel. The key is to turn cold traffic into hot traffic. Cold traffic doesn't buy, but hot traffic buys.

Can you please tell me how to do this?

A course that I took told me that I need to create multiple touchpoints along the customer journey.

In each of these touchpoints, I deliver value in the form of: education, entertainment, or price relative to value.

Education:

webinars
blog posts
product demonstration
product feature comparison
podcasts
ebooks
whitepapers

Entertainment:
storyselling (eg seinfeld method emails, soap opera sequences)

Price relative to value:

discounts (eg 50% off)
free shipping
bogo (eg buy one, get one 50% off)
product giveaways

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

You must convert the trial close sales concept into a web sales funnel context.

Otherwise, there will be little result in a funnel's touch-points.

Looking for lay-down buyers for your funnel will never make any real money.

80% of buyers don't buy for one reason --they are not sold.

Interesting points Graybeard. Thx for sharing.

How would you close ecommerce sales?

Thanks

  • get them to agree to something and effect an action
  • think of the claim your 20% offer now [yes] [no thanks]
  • then what to do if no thanks? agree to something else elicit some other action ...
  • a reward for some action ...
