Make the landing page? Or host it?

If you're talking about hosting with templates, sure. There are quite a few, just do a Bing or Google search for free landing pages, something like that. Some offer 30 days (or whatever) free trial, others are completely free (think Wix, Weebly, etc.) There are also Wordpress plugins for that, if you already have a WP site.

I agree. Using a domain and redirecting or using a landing page is much more preferable.
