Clickbank + Facebook tracking

I'm trying to get my facebook pixel to work on clickbank using their Integrated sales reporting. Originally I tried to use the "Facebook conversion pixel" option. I put my pixel_id in as it says, but it never fired once. I checked the order form page and it would insert some facebook pixel code, but it throws an error.

I then switched to using the plain "Tracking Pixel" using the <img> link that facebook gives inside of the <noscript> tags.

So for Add To Cart I put "https://www.facebook.com/tr?id=PIXEL_ID&ev=AddToCart". This goes on the order form page. This has been firing correctly from what I can tell. AddToCart conversions are showing up on facebook.

For purchase I put "https://www.facebook.com/tr?id=PIXEL_ID&ev=Purchase&cd[value]=0.00&cd[currency]=USD" on the Order confirmation page. I've gotten a bunch of sales but it hasn't fired a purchase pixel back to facebook once. I tried with and without the extra values after purchase, neither worked.

Does anyone have any idea why the add to cart works, but purchase doesn't?

clickbank have a very problematic way to fill up the parameters. i dont think it will work.

We had to build a hack to actually grab the data they were passing into our conversion pixels.

Hack was: Capture the data in the conversion URL, parsing it, and adding it to our system to match our requirements.

Going through a tracking software will give you a bit more flexibility to play with this. At least for Clickbank

Thanks for your response, but it really has nothing to do with the problem I said in the OP.

I am not passing any data back to facebook, it is just the facebook pixel that links the conversion to their account which is needed for the algorithm to optimize.

Hey, @jordan

Lots of people faced the same issue like you with ClickBank, hope this case will help you out Conversions’ tracking between AdsBridge and ClickBank

Have you tried escaping the url?

&amp; instead of &
&#91; instead of [
&#93; instead of ]

Example:

https://www.facebook.com/tr?id=PIXE...;value&#93;=0.00&amp;cd&#93;currency&#93;=USD
I did try that, it still didn't work. These links fire when I test them on my own pages, but just not firing with clickbank for some reason. Must be something on their end, but support doesn't respond.

Thanks, but I already have tracking for outside of facebook. I'm just looking to use the actual facebook pixel so I can optimize for conversions.

If you can, PM the url.

I get that @jordan -
1. pixel works on the add to cart page because there is no parameters to pass back to facebook
2. Pixel doesn't work on the confirmation page, because CB messes with the parameters.

The reason i suggested to use a tracking software that has an integration with clickbank is because we identified this problem a long time ago and were able to solve it as described above.

Please let us know if you manage to solve the problem.

Thanks
Laurent

I do have tracking software, but that has nothing to do with my problem. I'm not using facebook to track conversions, it is just for facebook to optimize traffic with the pixel.

Hey man, you would need to just input the pixel ID into that clickbank slot and it should work. If you use the facebook pixel helper, it should indeed fire when you go to that order form/order form confirmation page again. Check out my youtube video where I do this step by step - 'Facebook Ads: How to Add Facebook Pixel to ClickBank' by affiliate marketing essentials.

let me know if that still doesn't work for you.
