As someone who's been a UK affiliate since 2005 (now on the network side but still an active affiliate), I've seen a lot of changes. Mainly affiliates who I would have described as 'super affiliates' launching their own ventures in different niches, whilst keeping their affiliate activity running on the side.
Another shift is that it seems to have gone more international, with fewer UK-based affiliates. Perhaps this is due to tax laws, or too much red tape, or other reasons - I don't know, just an interesting shift. Would be interested to hear other affiliates' thoughts on the way the industry has evolved over the last 10 years.
