I've been doing this for years as well. I would never go into a market with no competition - why? Because there's no demand. If there's competition, there's money to be made ;)

That is true, very true. Although "free" traffic is much harder to scale quickly and you still need to invest labour, so it's not essentially free, just less cash intensive. But I get what you mean ;)
