I agree with Walkertn -I have found that some of the best affiliates keep some sort of "focus" when promoting -and I'm sure we've all read the thread about the importance of finding a niche.
As an AM, I agree with all the advice given above and cannot emphasize the importance of giving sufficient information. I find that there are times when the affiliate application process doesn't give the whole story - a lot of affiliates will only list 1 domain which may or may not be relevant...
I'm really happy to have found the above article. Sure wish I'd seen this last month, we've just had a new program launch, in addition to a program re-launch, but the article is great for keeping things in mind and giving you knowledgable tools for future launches.
Thanks for sharing!
#1 is the piece of advice I hear from ALL successful bloggers. If you find a niche that you are passionate about, it will definitely make your life easier and come across in your writing (not to mention make it less of a chore). Hmmm... now to just narrow down all my interests....
Has anyone here checked out the blog called Tiny Art Director? It's totally built upon this premise. I'm just going to warn you that it's probably not a good idea to go on if you're busy, because trust me, you WILL spend a lot of time on there!
Ok then, back to work!

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
