Do you need a business license for each city you do business in or just one for where you are located? For instance if my customers come from San Diego, San Francisco and Miami, do I need 3 licenses and 2 state registrations?

It is a great way to search for people. I know a guy in real estate that searched for his city name and "apartments" and found all sorts of leads to rent to.
what would they do with it though? Just place ads on the side of every twitter with some relevant text? I know a big part of twitter is the mobile aspect and so it would be harder to format the adsense text to the twitter mobile format.
