Does Google do an update every 3 months or something? I've recently noticed a jump in my rankings which I think is due to work I did a few months ago. I like the suggestions on article marketing. How many articles do some of you submit daily? For me I find it really hard to bring myself to write...
For both sites I'm targeting keywords with less than 10k exact searches/month and my competition doesn't have page rank higher than 4. I've been promoting 1 site for about a year and the other has been for just a few weeks. I guess I'd like to have more structure in my link building campaign so...
I have a few niche websites that I'd like to SEO and my current "strategy" is to build links randomly. By randomly I mean I'll post on forums, social bookmark, blog comment, submit to directories, and submit articles a few times a week each. Unfortunately this hasn't been to successful and I...
Does anyone know the most accurate way to estimate the CPC on a given keyword besides actually running a campaign? I play around with Google's keyword tool and I notice that I get different estimates depending on what page I'm on or whether I'm logged into my account or not.
I've also noticed...
Thanks Linda, SEO can be so confusing. When I first started getting into internet marketing and I read about SEO it sounded so easy in theory but in actuality it is really hard to get backlinks for your sites, especially dofollow links.
When commenting on blogs does entering your site's URL in the website field count as a backlink? Or is the only way to get backlinks from blog comments by making a clickable link in your comment?
If you're using Google Analytics on your site check out Google Website Optimizer, hopefully that can help you fix whatever it is that is causing your high bounce rate.
Thanks, I think I figured it out myself as I stepped away from the CPU. In Dreamweaver when someone clicks on "Blog" I can just point that to "blog.mydomain.com" and with Hostgator I could probably use Fantastico to install a WP theme onto the subdomain. I'll give that a try and if that doesn't...
Thanks Linda that was really helpful...and easy! As I was writing my post I thought maybe I should check Hostgator first, sorry for asking you to help me find something that was so accessible. Their video tutorial was great, that's what I love about them.
Do you have any suggestions on how I...
I'm working on a website in Dreamweaver and I'm almost done however I would like to add a blog to it to help with SEO but I'm not exactly sure how.
First of all can anyone point me to information on how to create a subdomain for example would I do something like blog.mydomain.com or...
Thanks for the replies everyone. Linda, to make the spiders not able to crawl your page do you just put "robots.txt" anywhere in your code? Sorry I still don't know much about coding.
Sorry, my domain isn't really "onlineblahblah," that was just a made up example. What I meant was it is in the format of online______review.com like onlineshoestorereview.com.
I bought a domain name similiar to "onlineblahblahreview.com." According to Google's keyword tool the average search volume for the term "online blahblah" is 3,600 per month and the average search volume for "online blahblah(s)" is 4,400. By your standards would you consider this a good domain...
Thanks for the input guys. There are so many things that go into building a website and I didn't want to go live and then realize I made a mistake that will only hinder my SEO efforts. This is my first site and since the niche seems competitive I'm focusing my efforts on getting organic traffic...
I'm considering putting my site online before it is complete so that I can send friends to it while I continue to work on it. Is this a bad idea? Will the SE spiders crawl my unfinished site and therefore hinder my SEO efforts or will they update it as I do?
Thanks Jazzguy. I don't have any background in graphics so I'm going to try and start playing around with GIMP to see if I can pick anything up. I might consider just going with SBI for now since I won't be able to design a site that I consider good enough by the holidays.
I've just begun building my first site and I'm using DW CS3. I've been using the Lynda tutorials as well as the "Dreamweaver CS3: The Missing Manual" book. I've learned enough to create a functioning website but so far have not found anything to help me make it look nice or professional. Is...
I've been checking out this forum for a few weeks now and I've finally signed up so that I can begin getting feedback from everyone. I met someone back in February who was a successful affiliate marketer and she got me interested in giving it a try. I've been reading a ton of books for the past...
