While this is a bit old, all of these aspects are still relevant and important 5 years later after the original post. Content, usability, appearance, and visibility are all majorly important aspects of web design.
As always, content remains the driving force behind a web presence. Who, what...
There are a multitude of email marketing companies out there that are really helpful. They can help you build a professional looking campaign easily and it's usually affordable or free, depending on what you need.
Personally, I use trivia crack, pinterest, and my banks app the most. Professionally, I use top task list to keep track of projects, as well as camscanner and linkedin.
I'm in agreement with everyone here. .com is trusted. I know I personally prefer sites that use .com. Since we're running out of .coms I see them becoming more expensive, but not less popular.
There are a ton of free tutorials out there if you google search. A tip someone shared with me when I was working on my design skills was to create movie posters for practice. They don't even have to be real movies, just things you find interesting. It's good practice and will keep your attention.

Attention: "role based name" email prefixes such as support, webmaster, info, contact, forum, service, affiliate, admin, traffic, partners, marketing, etc., for our member accounts are not permitted. They are acceptable for a vendor listing, but not for the member email. This is due to bulk email processors scrubbing them for delivery due to extremely high bounce rates. Please apply for membership using a personalized email prefix. Something like bob@xxxxx.com.
If we discover you signed up with a role based name we will give you only one message to change it. After 3 days your account will be removed if the email is not changed.
