    let me add something to this, if you are in a partnership or someone else is cosigning for you or vice versa, keep in mind what they do affects you. therefore be careful who you climb into the business bed with. it can ruin you.

    agree. just make sure you have legal documents spelling out the ownership and rights of each person and what to do in case the business needs to be dissolved. absent a legal document, you're setting yourself up for trouble. partnerships are marriages without the love.

    first clean your machine using spyware software. defrag. disk cleaner. then go to ccleaner. i love it. webroot washer is also good. reboot after everything and see if there is an improvement. if it's still slow, consider upgrading memory. consider a laptop with a faster processor.

    wow, that's a lot of affiliates. don't know the firm so can't remark on them. if you're unhappy though you need to talk to them AFTER you identify exactly why you're unhappy. maybe there are ways to work it out.

    not a big fan of hyphen names unless it's the only way you can get a hyphen. like any site you're going to have to promote it and if you do that and it catches on, the hyphen won't matter. will suggest if there's any way to get the site without a hyphen then do it and point it to your hyphen.

    excellent points louise. the quote marks are very important. also check out who some of your competition is. is it dominated by one or two. though alexa isn't used by the business industry, it's still a good free gauge on the popularity of competition.

    yea, with affiliate marketing most of the time you just sign up and never talk to the merchant. so the rule for me is, do i believe enough in the product that i want MY site affiliated with it. also will the product make me money. does anyone else want it.

    definitely a po box can work. you can also rent addresses. maybe a friend will let you use their business address. every business should have an address.

    blogs are definitely less work than forums. both need to build up traffic so users want to interact though. but since blogs allow comments and people to participate in a discussion in some way, i'd go with the blog.
