Practises to stop emails being flagged?

I'm starting as new comerce shop and we will be sending emails and getting a list together, shoudl I use HTML emails only or images? Also how can I make sure they dont get flagged? Words to avoid etc?

So me and my gf have a new store selling hair products but what is the best way to rank each product page as content is minimal?
