Google AdPlanner and Google Trends can also help, I usually combine those with Alexa to have an idea of the demographics of the website I'm interested in.
Not sure if it'll work for PPV, still busy setting things up to test that channel, I prefer to master a channel at the time: Email , done...
A Landing page is the special weapon of any affiliate marketer, everyone has his own formula, it's unlikely that anyone would share it...also each offer will need a different type of approach based on the different type of traffic. A good landing for display traffic might not work for PPV ...
Can you share more info about it?
It's always better to have a landing page that keeps at least the look&feel of the offer page, maybe more than a real landing page you should use a simple splash-page that tells the user all the info he needs to make a quick decision once he lands on the offer...
