I send out a weekly newsletter to all members of my website. I do this for 2 reasons:
1. they asked for it - they like having the information pushed out to them rather than having to go to my website to get it.
2. I can give up to the date information - my website is all around finding fun...
I earned my first $10 on line writing an article for Demand Media - I don't write for them anymore as I have my own websites/ebooks/products now. I still remember how excited I was with that first paycheck though.
Mine is hard to say by month because I have ebooks that I only get paid quarterly. I would say overall I earn between $200 and $300 per month. My goal for Q1 this year is get it to $500 a month and then $1000 by the end of the year. We shall see what happens.:D
I agree it is tough right now. I have a website that I have run for over 2 years and I had clawed my way up to #5 in the rankings. With a change to the algorithm I am back to page 10. However I have discovered that it is possible to be successful online without relying on Google and her fickle...
I know a lot of people who have been less than satisfied with the work they get on Fiverr. I think that it is important to be very specific in what you want or in what you offer. I have also heard from people that do very well on Fiverr, so again I think it all depends on what you are selling...
I have not used Pinterest much so I appreciate the information in this thread. I like the idea of thinking of it as a bulletin board for my websites. I think it is a good way to get more traffic to your site from people who might not be on Facebook or Twitter or LinkedIn. I don't know if it will...
I actually have a website where I teach a simple system to figuring out when you should believe these kinds of sites and when you can't. It is a few simple steps:
1. Check www.IMreportcard.com for reviews - they keep tabs on the most popular items
2. email the person selling and ask them for...
Remember content is king. If you don't provide value to your readers it doesn't matter how great your SEO is, you won't convert traffic to sales. The items you listed are important for Google to understand what your post is about and rank it appropriately. I have also found that if I bold or...
I love Suits. Actually I generally like a lot of the programs on USA. Unfortunately things have gotten so busy with kids I never have time to catch up to my recordings. I may have to declare a Mom gets the television day and catch up.:p
I love these types of posts. They give me ideas of new places to write. I am a freelance writer who has 3 active blogs already, but I still enjoy writing for others. In the past I have written for Helium, Writers Network, Ehow, Textbroker and Constant Content. Right now I only write for Blogmutt...
I have never used hash tags before. To be honest I didn't really understand what they were for. I will use them from now on and see if that helps me grow my following. Thanks for the tip!
I was not making enough through Google adsense so I removed the ads completely. Personally I just ignore ads when I am surfing other blog sites. I may give them a try though and see if they do any better. Thanks for the tip.
When I first started out I did a lot of backlinking with these types of article directories. I was never able to identify any leads or traffic from them so I stopped. I know that some people are very successful using them, but I think it depends on your niche.
These are all great ways to build backlinks and move up in the rankings as well as advertise. I would also like to suggest Press Releases. These can be surprisingly effective when you have something specific to say.
I had no idea there was such a thing. I really struggle with social media, particularly Twitter. I guess I just don't feel like I have anything of substance to add. I tweet a link to my newsletter once a week, but that is about it. Thanks for the information.
