Not sure what searches you did? It's natural to have the merchants with good positions in google, and you could probably identify some "secondary" searches with good volumes that you could target and get before the merchant.

Not sure what you ask completely but all blog articles appear on the homepage. The only content that doesn't show on the homepage is the auxiliary pages content.
it might be that the merchant itself converts quite bad. So no matter how many clicks you send, if the visitor doesn't feel like buying on the merchant site, it's not going to work

I'm not sure why this is actually a problem? Usually the affiliate sale is credited by cookie or other tracking mechanisms so it might not matter what link you used when going to the merchant site.
But yes, I agree that sending the visitor to purchase page too soon might not make...

It's an old post, but I'm just wondering how many of the Affiliate Mangers have actually an affiliate account into their own system and try to do a little affiliate marketing to see how this feels from the other side of the fence?
